GFE "Broken
Time Machine"
It's been called "a dark album for dark times".
Between two wars, a devastated economy, rampant corporate &
government corruption & a news media that's fallen asleep
at the switch, America has a lot on it's plate. As usual GFE
addresses the issues, but instead of drowning in the misery
they have somehow seamlessly blended their brand of social commentary
with their trademark passion & positivity. In the same way
they mix cynicism with honesty & skepticism with hope,
they bring together drum machines & samplers with live instrumentation,
DJ's & rappers with smooth female vocals. Broken Time Machine
is largely representative of the time at which it is being released.
A product of weathering the storm of the Bush administration,
and the precipice of what could either be the final plunge into
chaos or the truning point to a new & better age. |

Three years
in the waiting, Foul Mouth Jerk is back with a vengeance. His
fourth solo LP is titled "Streetlight Music",
a tribute to the pioneering days of hip hop, when jams were
thrown in the park & electricity was stolen from city streetlights
to power the turntables, amps & other equipment, and more
importantly, originality & style were what mattered most.
Jerk brings the solid foundation of the old school with an appearance
by Grandmaster Caz of the Col Crush Brothers, the glory of the
Golden Age with features by Masta Ace & El Da Sensei of
the Artifacts, and the cutting edge of today's best underground
talent with guest stars Breez Evahflowin, TopR, & MURS of
Living Legends. Foul Mouth keeps pace with these heavyweights
every step of the way with his usual cynical outlook & hilarious,
sometimes self deprecating sense of humor. 16 bulletproof bangers.$15.00
ea. shipping included. |

GFE
“Bigger Than It Really Is”-
GFE’s 2004 release is their most polished full sounding
album of the catalog. After years of requests to record
an album of unavailable fan favorites from their live shows,
the band finally delivered, in a big way. This CD is 100%
live instrumentation and largely recreates the sound of
their concerts. It features a very special appearance from
the god father of funk himself George Clinton, on the single
“Everybody Get High”, as well as strong showings
from NYC battle champion Breez Evahflowin, and GFE regular
collaborators B-Ski Rocks & IronFist. This album, possibly
more than any embodies the band’s identity as “big,
thumpin, politically charged, dance music”

GFE
“Slactivism”- released in 2001
this CD may be G-force’s most renowned. It is a major
contribution to their reputation for an eclectic style of
combining live instrumentation with electronica. Using all
tools at their disposal, from drum machines to live violins,
samplers & synths to guitars, this may be GFE at it’s
most creative. Featuring production from Jenny Junk, Brycon,
Hockenberry, and Josh Blake as well as an appearance by
New Jersey rap legend Tame One, this album helped push GFE
into cult status.

Agent
23 “Self Full Filling Profess See”-
The debut album from GFE visionary Agent 23 plays much like
a mission statement of where he would like to see hip hop
& music as a whole progress to. With three distinct movements,
“Birth & Change”, “Growth & Struggle”,
and “Inspiration & Victory” it steps forward
with a much more mature & developed outlook than one would
expect from most artist’s first outing. Containing both
production & lyrical contributions from musicians &
friends from across the country it has a smooth, very funky
movement with some very heady lyrical content. |

|
Agent
23 “Breakin Cages”- 23’s
second go round is a landmark event in which he takes on all
artistic responsibility. Doing all the production himself
as well as every single verse with no help from any guests,
it is an almost polar shift from the large group party vibe
of his debut. This album is a very direct discussion of his
opinions on the oppressive woes on today’s society and
his ideas on what may help to ease those conditions. It intends
to both curse the darkness & light a candle, with the
occasional stop for some good party rock music. |

Foul
Mouth Jerk “Vespucci’s Ransom”-
The sophomore release for GFE’s most jaded & serrated
is decidedly darker & a little rougher than most of the
crew’s albums. It’s content is consistently bass
heavy and ranges in topic from economic struggle of blue collar
America to love and heartbreak, to drugs & music itself.
The Jerk is very lyrically complex and often political, with
a sharp cynicism that is tempered by an intelligent sense
of humor. It is hard core hip hop at it’s finest &
very representative of his native New Jersey. |

|
Foul
Mouth Jerk “Skrilla Warfare”-
On his third solo outing, the Jerk focuses on a more party
rocking style, than his previous offering. Still as sharp
& complex as ever, the Jerk offers a bit more tongue in
cheek delivery on songs such as “Still Not an Asshole”.
This album expresses a very thorough work ethic, not surprising
from the self proclaimed “working man’s MC”,
as well as an “enjoy the ride, before it’s over”
vibe, not usually heard from the Jerk. All production is by
the Number 3, and all verses are by FMJ with no guest appearances.
Solid all the way through. |

|
Agent 23
& B-Ski Rocks “The Road Less Traveled”-
For his third solo CD, 23 teams up with long time friend &
frequent GFE collaborator B-Ski for production. This album is
quintessential 23, the beats fit like a glove and he rises to
the occasion. Topics include fatherhood, the travelling music
culture, the 9 to 5 struggle, and much more. It includes guest
appearances by underground stalwart Breez Evahflowin, American
Music Award winner Jen Durkin of Deep Banana Blackout, and GFE’s
own Adam Strange. Fourteen tracks of pure heat. Any fan of Agent
23 or GFE would be remiss not to add this to their collection.

Vice
Squad "Vomit is the New Confetti"-
The name says it all. Foul Mouth Jerk & San Francisco
battle champion/frequent G-Force collaborator TopR Holiday
come together like some sort of drunken Voltron to form Vice
Squad. "Vomit..." is an album for the drinkers,
smokers, brawlers, deviants & low lives. Light on positive
messages, but heavy on talent this CD is dark, edgy and very
funny. It features appearances by Conceit, and the Fist Family
with production by Philo, Boac & members of GFE. This
disc is not for the easily offended or the faint of heart.
You must be this tall to ride with Vice Squad. |
